trade show season

Mayor Pam Clarke says some of the Wimmera’s products and services will be exposed to an estimated tow million people at the five-day fair.

She says it will be difficult to assess immediately whether the trip has been worthwhile.

“When you’re dealing with China you need to build relationships and that doesn’t happen with one visit,” she said.

“In Shepparton and Mildura, I know they’ve had some instant success, but it’s hard to determine whether we will have instant success or not, or whether that will just continue and develop into something as the time goes on.”

Reed Exhibitions, owner of the upcoming ITEC training and simulation trade show in Europe, has sold that conference and two others to Clarion Events Ltd for an undisclosed price.

The sale comes nearly a year after Reed, a division of Reed Elsevier, announced it intended to get out of the market for military shows. Along with ITEC, which is being held this year in Stockholm on June 10-12, Clarion will purchase DSEi – Defence Systems and Equipment International – held every two years in London and LAAD, the Latin American Aerospace and Defence show held biannually in Latin America.

Clarion said the three shows have been sold “as going concerns” and said the sale will involve the transfer of staff as protected by U.K. employment protection laws.

Clarion describes itself as the largest independent event organizer in the United Kingdom. Clarion’s Web site says it run 80 business-to-business and business-to-consumer events that serve 15 market sectors that include leisure, entertainment, finance, retail, gaming, fine art and energy.

The company employs a staff of more than 200 working in four offices: London (Earls Court and Hatton Garden); Birmingham (NEC); St Charles, Michigan in the U.S. and Maarsen in the Netherlands.

PhotoSavings.co.uk is a blog to help professional and amature photographers get the best services and offers for their businesses. PhotoSavings website was started by Ian McGraw LBIPP a photographer who found that searching for the best people to deal with at the best prices was a very time consuming process. Time that could be better spent being in touch with clients following up leads.

Offers and services that appear on PhotoSavings.co.uk are the result of genuine vetting on behalf of the author – either through having used a service or product himself or been recommended a particular service or product. However the author is also keen to talk to photographic service providers, merchants and manufacturers to forge new relationships and add high quality entries to the directory.

PhotoSavings.co.uk was born to provide a trusted business to business service. The hope is that PhotoSavings will become the first and only stop directory for photographic professionals.

Your feedback on PhotoSavings is welcome as are suggestions for your own product or service recommendations.
